The Citizens for Pound Reform Steering Committee is pleased to announce that CPR has established the Citizens for Pound Reform Fund at the San Antonio Area Foundation. The Citizens for Pound Reform Fund is a way for our community to financially support spay/neuter services, foster and adoption services, public education about animal welfare, and other strategies to transform San Antonio into a "no- kill" city that finds homes for all of our healthy adoptable animals.
The San Antonio Area Foundation (http://www.saafdn.org) is a community foundation that serves as an "umbrella" for several hundred smaller funds. CPR is not yet an incorporated 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and so cannot directly receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. But because SAAF is a charitable foundation, all contributions made to the Citizens for Pound Reform Fund are tax deductible (within the limits of IRS law, of course).
Expenditures from the Citizens for Pound Reform Fund are made by recommendation of the the Chair and Vice-Chair of the CPR Steering Committee. A few examples of uses of Citizens for Pound Reform Fund donations are:
Donations to the fund can be made in two ways:
1. by check
2. by secure credit card transaction at JustGive.org
(Please note that as with ALL credit card transactions, 3% of the transaction amount goes to the credit card company, not to the recipient.)
Once SAAF has received your donation, they'll send you a letter acknowledging your donation for tax purposes.
